GUWAHATI: A 65-year-old man, identified as Ramesh Das, was recently arrested by Baksa police on charges of repeatedly raping a 9-year-old girl in Baksa’s Fulguri village.

The incident came to light after the victim's family filed a complaint with the police.
The accused Das was apprehended under the stringent provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and has been sent to judicial custody.
“Yes, Das has been taken into custody,” said an official from the Simla Police Station. “We’re investigating the situation at the moment, and will soon find out how long this has been going on for.”
The official further revealed that the minor girl was subjected to sexual abuse on multiple occasions.
Speaking to GPlus, the official additionally ensured justice for the victim and her family.
