One Pranjit Das has been arrested by Jalukbari Police Station with a huge amount of drugs on Friday. The miscreant was first caught by localites on Friday morning and handed over to the police.
Pranjit is currently in the custody of Jalukbari Police Station.
The localites of Maligaon and Kamakhya area informed G Plus that they had reported many such drug related issues in the past to the police.
The localites have further alleged that after arresting these drug peddlers, the officials of Jalukbari Police Station take bribes from the arrested peddlers and release them within a few hours.
Speaking on the matter of releasing arrested drug peddlers, DCP West, Mridulananda Sarma said, "We have arrested two persons today and police is currently investigating the case." He further added that the culprits were not let out of jail like the residents have alleged.
