Guwahati: The Satgaon Police arrested one person for raping a girl. The accused is Sunil Doloi (28) from Dhakuakhana.
The accused had come to his sister’s house in Kankan Nagar, Panjabari. In the meantime, the victim, a 23-year-old girl from Majuli, too, had come to stay with her relatives in Kankan Nagar.
The accused allegedly befriended the girl and invited her to his sister’s house on 27th July, Friday where he raped her. The accused then threatened to kill the girl if she revealed the crime.
Later the girl informed the locals of the area about what had happened to her and they advised a compromise.
The victim decided to go ahead and launched a police complaint based on which the accused Sunil Doloi was arrested from Kankan Nagar.
The Police have registered a case 488/376/506 under IPC and are grilling the accused.
