GUWAHATI: The Lok Sabha polls in the 8 Northeastern states of India will be held in three phases — 11, 18 and 23 of April.
While polling in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim will be held in a single phase, polling in Manipur and Tripura will be held in two phases and polling in Assam will be held in three phases.
It is to be mentioned that the 1st phase polling will be held on 11th April, 2nd phase on 18th April, 3rd phase on 23rd April., 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th will be held on 29th April, 6th May,12th May and 19th May respectively.
Assam and Chattisgarh will be going to polls in three phases and the Model Code on Conduct will come to immediate effect from today.
