GUWAHATI: Locals and residents of a village in Tinsukia district have expressed their love for singer Zubeen Garg by constructing a bamboo bridge and naming it after him.

According to reports, The “Zubeen Garg bridge” connects Thepabari with Tengapani and several other villages.

It is to be mentioned that around 400 to 500 people have to cross the river every day and with only one boat in place locals including students face a harrowing time.

Earlier, after a devastating flood in 1992, the bridge was swept away and since then, there was no replacement for the residents.

Meanwhile, Zubeen on his official Facebook account wrote: “My respect and salute to the people of Kakopathar for this overwhelming love and affection for me. Planning to come on Feb 29 to inaugurate it.”

Zubeen will be inaugurating the bridge on February 29.
