LGBI to Kahikuchi road to be renovated by Airports Authority under CSR

GUWAHATI: A MoA was signed between the Airports Authority of India, North Eastern Region Guwahati and the Government of Assam for the renovation and improvement of public road connectivity from the VIP chowk, Guwahati Airport to Kahikuchi market (length 1100 m) under the CSR program of AAI at the Regional Headquarter office of AAI, Guwahati.

This is the first phase of the work where it will be completed till Kahikuchi market. The stretch is being improved under the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of AAI with the help of State Govt. and the cost of the project is Rs. 45 lakhs (under Phase-I).

AAI under same CSR, in the second phase, will complete this road from VIP Chowk to Ajara, where the total length of the road is 2500 m and an additional cost of the project, as proposed by DC Kamrup office is Rs. 47 lakhs.

Addressing the media and guests, MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita said that the government has joined hands with AAI under MOA for the benefit of the local people and it will help many in future. This will also enable smooth and safe movements in this stretch.
