GUWAHATI: As a result of an increase in the number of passengers at arrival and departure, even at late hours, the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) Airport has announced the introduction of an automated parking system.
This system has been rolled out in a phased manner with the integration of tested and proven technologies.
It would make travelling through the airport much less cumbersome for passengers as well as for their vehicles while they were on airport property.
At the entrance, there are self-service ticket dispensers that users of vehicles can use to generate their own tickets.
Vehicle Users are required to pay the prescribed parking fee and scan their ticket at the exit booth of the toll plaza.
In the not-too-distant future, officials from LGBI Airport will begin the process of covering Parking lots with CCTV cameras in order to ensure the safety of vehicles.
At the entrance and exit toll booths of the parking Area, additional surveillance cameras equipped with more sophisticated security features are going to be installed.
