GUWAHATI: A leopard attacked a man on Wednesday morning on the under-construction bridge connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati.

The incident occurred around 8:05 AM when the animal taking shelter on one of the bridge’s poles, pounced on the victim working on the bridge.
The man, identified as Uday Ghosh, a native of West Bengal, sustained injuries in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital before being shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Bharalumukh Police Station said, “Forest officials are attempting to rescue the leopard, but it appears to have taken refuge inside a boat nearby.”
