GUWAHATI: In light of the current flood situation in various parts of Assam, the All Assam Law Students' Association has submitted an application to the Controller of Examination at Gauhati University, appealing to the authorities to consider postponing or rescheduling the forthcoming exams for a more suitable period.
The application, representing the concerns of law students across the state, highlighted the severe impact of continuous heavy rainfall which has led to widespread damage to life, property, and transportation across the state of Assam.
The relentless downpour over the past few days has rendered it extremely challenging for students to adequately prepare for the upcoming examinations scheduled to commence on June 23, 2023.
Students are grappling with numerous difficulties including frequent power outages and problems with internet connectivity caused by the flood.
“Furthermore, the evacuation of homes has added to the strain, making it difficult for students to focus on their studies amidst concerns for their safety and survival,” the student body stated in the letter.
