GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, trapped a Lat Mandal on charges of bribery in Sibasagar on November 8.
The individual identified to be Purnima Gogoi, serving as a Lat Mandal in the Office of Demow Revenue Circle, Sivasagar District was caught red-handed, accepting a bribe in front of the Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office.
The bribe was supposedly being taken in connection with a land patta-related matter, as the Lot Mandal was caught accepting illegal gratification for facilitating the processing of land-related documents.
DVAC took to X to put out, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Purnima Gogoi, Lot Mandal of the O/O Demow Revenue Circle, Dist-Sivasagar, after she accepted bribe in front of Sukanpukhuri Panchayat Office for processing land patta related matter.”

The individual has been apprehended and legal proceedings are underway.
