GUWAHATI: The Laboratory Personnel Association, representing employees of water testing labs under the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of the Assam government, has declared a protest scheduled from July 1 to July 6. The protest aims to highlight pressing issues faced by lab employees and to demand significant improvements in working conditions.

Key demands put forth by the association include:
1. Job Security: Ensuring stable employment conditions for all lab personnel.
2. Regularisation of Salaries: Urgent regularisation of salaries for contract workers.
3. Infrastructure Upgrades: Improvement of lab infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency.
4. Additional Benefits: Provision of enhanced benefits for employees.
In the demands put forward by them are not met, the association has warned of intensifying their protest. They are waiting for their concerns to be adequately addressed at the earliest, and ensure a favourable working environment for all employees involved.
