GUWAHATI: The Krishna Kanta Handiqui Library of Gauhati University has been bestowed with the prestigious ILA - Dr. L. M. Padhya Best University Library award for the year 2023. This recognition comes from the Indian Library Association (ILA), acknowledging the library's exceptional contribution to promoting teaching, learning, and research within its user community.
The award was officially conferred during the 69th Annual Conference of the Indian Library Association held at Gauhati University. The Librarian of Krishna Kanta Handique Library, the Central Library of Gauhati University, accepted the honour on behalf of the institution.
Coinciding with the award presentation, the Department of Library and Information Science, Krishna Kanta Handique Library, Gauhati University, in collaboration with the Assam Library Association and Indian Library Association, New Delhi, organised the ILA International Conference on "Building the Future: Transforming Libraries for Sustainability through Capacity Building."
