Key Decisions Taken By Assam Government During Cabinet Meeting On January 12

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government in its recent cabinet meeting held today, January 12, 2023, at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati took some key decisions for the development of the tourism sector in Assam as well as regarding the skill development program in the state among many more.

The key decisions taken by the Assam Government today are as follows:

1. Sagarmala Religious Tourism Circuit to come up in Assam which will provide ferry services to all religious sites of the states and enable pilgrims and other travellers to go to the sites efficiently.

2. New Education Policy will be introduced which will provide certification equivalent to HSLC and HS in the state of Assam to ITI graduates to introduce more employment and educational opportunities.

3. Borsola to get 50 MW Solar Park in the previously evicted land.

4. 44 lakh households to get Smart Meters and Prepaid System for electricity to be introduced.

5. Controller of Legal Metrology and Department of Food and Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs to be merged into one Department.

6. NDRF’s Batallion Campus to be constructed in Sonpara Mountain in Hajo.

7. Submission date for Mission Basundhara 2.0 application extended from January 10 to March 31, 2023.

8. District Commissioners, Senior Superintendent of Police and Superintendent of Police to hold power over the transfer of Inspectors and Officers within the same district.
