Due to an ongoing heat wave in the district, safety guidelines have been issued to all schools until further notice. These measures shall be applicable to all private, state, and central government schools operating within the district.
The revised timings state that schools school hours may start at 7:30 AM and end at 12:30 PM. Furthermore, morning assemblies are to be conducted inside classrooms, not on the open campus.
Proper arrangements need to be made by school authorities for providing drinking water in the school campus. Furthermore, students have also been advised not to wear waistcoats or ties.
Additionally, classrooms must be ventilated and all fans must be operational. In the event of a power outage, schools will have to arrange alternate power sources to ensure constant ventilation.
The recent heatwave in Assam has made it difficult for the local residents to commute to and fro from their daily activities.
