JJM Assam Organises Photography And Reel Competition Capturing The Essence of Water Responsibility

 

GUWAHATI: The Jal Jeevan Mission Assam in a unique initiative to promote water responsibility and empower local communities is organising a photography and reel competition. This initiative aims not only to source captivating visuals but also to unravel stories that may inspire positive behaviour toward water conservation.

A participant is allowed to choose two or three themes from the wide array available including tap water, potable drinking water, happy faces with potable water, value of water, community ownership of water, water conservation, and water in sanitation and hygiene (wash).

There are a few rules to adhere to that the participants will need to adhere to while participating in the competition. Participants will have to upload a picture or Reel/shorts with a caption & tag Jal Jeevan Mission Assam & mention your name, college, and district name.

Submissions can also be made through the official website link to ensure a seamless process  https://jjmassam.in/photography-reel/ which should be mentioned in the social media caption.

While submitting photographs, the participants have to make sure there are no watermarks on them and the photographs should not exceed 10 MB.

The competition is only open to the participants of Assam and for participating in reel and shorts, the participants must ensure that the duration of the videos does not exceed 50 seconds.

Participants must use the hashtag #JJMAssam and #JJMAssamPictureContest for the photography contest and #JJMAssam & #JJMAssamReelContest when uploading reels on the social media platform.

The last date for submission for the competition is August 10, 2023.

The contest promises to highlight the beauty and significance of water through the lens of talented photographers.

To make this competition more rewarding, the organisers have arranged for enticing prizes at both district and state levels.

For district-level winners, the first prize winner will receive ₹10,000, the second prize winner will be awarded ₹7,000, and the third prize winner will get ₹5,000.

At the state level, the stakes are even higher, with the first prize winner receiving a substantial sum of ₹50,000, the second prize winner taking home ₹30,000, and the third prize winner receiving ₹20,000.

Beyond the prize money, the real reward lies in the opportunity for the winning participants to have their work displayed in a special exhibition/screening on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day on August 15.

The district will host this celebratory event, and all the winners will be invited to be a part of this momentous occasion.

Through this creative and innovative competition, Jal Jeevan Mission Assam aims to bring forth the true essence of water responsibility.

By capturing the stories of water in its various facets, the competition seeks to ignite a spark of change in society's perception of water as a precious resource.

The hope is that these photographs and reels will inspire countless individuals to join the movement towards building a water-responsible society, where every drop is cherished, conserved, and utilised responsibly for the collective well-being of all.
