“The Governor has invited us to form the government and take the oath. We have decided that the CM along with his cabinet will take the oath on July 7,” Bhattacharya informed the media.

Champai Soren stepped down just five months after assuming office, clearing the path for Hemant Soren's return. Hemant Soren, the executive president of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in January on charges related to an alleged land scam and money laundering. Prior to his arrest, Soren resigned as chief minister. He was granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court on June 28.
