Jet Airways Suspends all flights Temporarily on Failure to acquire funds

GUWAHHATI: Jet Airways temporarily decided to suspend all operations from the night of 17 April. According to news agency Reuters, the move came after lenders rejected additional funds request for Jet Airways.

The debt-stricken airline had requested emergency funds worth Rs. 400 crore from the State Bank of India-led consortium of lenders. The airline faces a debt of more than Rs. 8,000 crore. The airline owes money to lessors, suppliers and oil companies. Jet pilots and staff haven’t received their salaries for months now.
