GUWAHATI: Even as the Janata Curfew is being imposed tomorrow and international aircrafts will not operate after March 22 midnight, all 12 airports will remain functional on Sunday, March 22, as they fall under essential services category, informed Sanjeev Jindal, regional executive director, northeast region.
“There is a possibility that we might reduce the manpower but all domestic flights will keep operating more or less in the similar way as they have been operating and the airports will remain functional,” said the director.
He further added that the airport authorities are conducting 100 per cent screening of passengers at all airports of the northeast region and they are using special thermal imaging cameras at the Guwahati airport for screening.
“We are laying full emphasis at airports for safety of all passengers and are taking measures to keep the airports sanitized,” said Jindal.
