GUWAHATI: As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its lead campaigner Prime Minister Narendra Modi proceed to a landslide victory on the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his delight.

"It's a vote for PM Narendra Modi. It's unprecedented. Never before in our electoral history, a wave in favour of a great leader decided national and state elections the way #ModiWave has done for @BJP4India," Sonowal tweeted.

In another Tweet, he thanked the people of Assam for their support. He wrote, "I am immensely grateful to the people of Assam for their unwavering love & support towards PM Shri @narendramodi ji and his vision of #NewIndia."
Earlier, state finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also extended gratitude towards the people of Assam through Twitter.
