IPL 2025 To Start On March 23, Announces BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla

 

GUWAHATI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed on Sunday, January 12 that the season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will commence on March 23. This announcement came after a Special General Meeting of the BCCI held in Mumbai.

Additionally, the BCCI revealed the appointment of a new IPL commissioner for a one-year term. The next BCCI meeting is slated for January 18-19, where discussions will finalise the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

During the meeting, Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia were elected unopposed as the new BCCI secretary and treasurer, respectively, after being the sole candidates to submit nominations for the positions previously held by Jay Shah and Ashish Shelar.
