Inter-State Travel in NE Allowed Without Passes: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Starting from tomorrow morning, that is, May 3, inter-state travel across all NE states will be open and no passes will be required for the same, announced state health and finance minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma in a press meet.

He added that health tests will be conducted at borders and any person showing symptoms may be quarantined.

The government of seven states of the northeast - Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura - have agreed to allow movement of people. 

However, the same will not be allowed in Sikkim. 

Only private vehicles will be allowed for now. Public transportation may be provided later.
