The much awaited Indian ASEAN car rally, which will traverse through four countries zigzaging nearly 700 km in 24 days, will be flagged off today.
Organised by the North East Federation of International Trade (NEFIT), Guwahati, the rally will cross through Imphal, Mandalay, Bagan, Yangon, Bangkok, Vientiane, and return back.
Around 50 rallyist from all across the country shall take part in this rally through the tri-national highway linking India, Myanmar, and Thailand which is expected to be a major trade route in future.
The main motto of the rally is to Save Rhinos of Assam. The rally will take the route, which is considered the main illegal trade route of the illegal rhino horn smuggling.
