GUWAHATI: The Indian Army came to the rescue of individuals involved in a traffic accident on the Bogibeel Bridge along National Highway 15 in Assam.
The accident, which occurred on November 8, involved a passenger van and three load-carrying vehicles, leading to a traffic blockade.
According to an official statement by the Army, the Red Shield Division's Army Convoy was quick to respond.
They began the task of extricating two individuals who were trapped inside the damaged load-carrying vehicles.
One of the trapped individuals was the driver of a vehicle who had suffered severe head and facial injuries.
Army personnel utilised an Army recovery vehicle, along with a synthetic hose, to bend the cabin structure and successfully free the injured driver from the wreckage.
Another driver involved in the accident, who had sustained lower limb injuries, was also safely extricated by the Army team.
The Army's medical team, part of the convoy, administered immediate resuscitation and emergency treatment to the injured.
The patient with a leg injury received careful immobilisation with splints and bandages.
Tragically, one passenger traveling in the van involved in the accident lost their life.
The injured victims were subsequently transferred to Aditya Hospital in Dibrugarh for further medical attention.
Additionally, the Army's recovery team cleared the road and restored traffic flow on the Bogibeel Bridge.
