India broke many records on Day 4 of the 2nd Test against Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur. After two rain-hit days, India came out firing-first dismissing Bangladesh for 233, and then mounting a historic assault with the bat.

Two batting stars of India , Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, hit 51 runs off 18 balls to bring a new record for test team fifty. This overturned England's earlier record of fifty in 26 balls against the West Indies this year.

Then, Jaiswal hammered a hat-trick of boundaries in the first over to set the tone, followed by Rohit's maximum over long-on in the second. The Indian skipper hammered another maximum to take his strike rate past 600. By the third over, Jaiswal's explosive hitting – with a towering six and a flurry of boundaries – had cemented India's place in the record books.

Jaiswal continued to pummel the attack, reaching his half-century off just 31 balls. Despite losing Rohit in the 4th over, he was in a jolly mood, and India raced to 100 in 61 balls (10.1 overs). India broke their previous record of fastest Test century against the West Indies.

However, there was not even a slight stop in the carnage as Pant, Gill, and Kohli saw through to 150 in a mere 18.3 overs in a record for the fastest 150 in Test history. The Indians had crossed 200 by the 29th over , breaking Australia's previous record against Pakistan in Sydney in 2017.
