India Records 227 new COVID-19 Positive Cases in 24 Hours

GUWAHATI: The coronavirus crisis escalated further as 227 new  cases and 3 deaths were reported in 24 hours on 30th March. 

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of cases in India increased to 1,251 on Monday, which included 1,117 active cases, 102 cured/discharged/migrated people and 32 deaths. 

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Lav Agarwal, on 31st March, said that the increase in the cases was due to "lack of support by people in some locations." 

However, the government maintained that India is still in the local transmission stage.
