Image Of Rare Comet NEOWISE Captured From Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Stargazers have been waiting for an opportunity to witness the comet NEOWISE and a Guwahatian, Dr. Arunav Bora, captured an image of the celestial body from the city which can be spotted with the naked eye.

“I tracked the comet using an app called SkySafari which shows the location of the comet. It helps locate constellations and comets. The comet is moving away from the Big Dipper constellation and Leo minor constellation. It is towards the West now,” said the Astro-enthusiast from Guwahati who captured the image of the comet. 

The comet is less visible now because the moon is getting brighter now,” he added. This could be the last week for one to catch a glimpse of the rare comet.

The Comet Neowise appears once in 6,800 years and over a quarter-century later, earthlings are finally able to watch a comet with naked eyes.
