GUWAHATI: The authorities of Kamrup (Metro) under the jurisdiction of the Railway Circle, conducted an enforcement operation in various places of the city that led to the recovery, seizure, and destruction of illicit liquor along with various illegal substances on November 2.
In the bust, approximately 130 litre of illegal Indian Made Liquor were confiscated during the operation.
The quantity of Pachwai seized is not specifically mentioned in the report. In addition to the arrests and seizures, the enforcement operation also resulted in the detection of one case under Section 61B.
Furthermore, the authorities managed to realise a fine amounting to ₹1,000 during the operation.
During the enforcement operation in Bhootnath, Maligaon, and Lakhtokia Gate 02, the police arrested several individuals under Section 53(1)(a) of the Assam Excise Act, 2018, to curb illicit activities related to alcohol and narcotics.
