Candidates who appeared for the exam have been advised to check their results by visiting the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. They can log in using their enrollment ID and password via the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal. The GATE 2025 score will remain valid for three years from the date of announcement.

If candidates forget their login details, the official website also provides an option to retrieve them using their registered email ID.

The results will include the candidate’s marks in each section, overall score, and All India Rank (AIR). Additionally, the qualifying GATE cutoff for 2025 will be mentioned. The scorecard will only be issued to candidates who meet or exceed the cutoff score.

The GATE cutoffs vary based on several factors, including the number of candidates appearing for the exam, seat availability in participating institutions, previous years' trends, and the difficulty level of the exam. GATE scores are widely used for admissions to master’s, doctoral, and direct doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, architecture, science, and humanities. Some institutions also use the scores for postgraduate admissions without scholarships.

Institutes that accept GATE scores include:

- Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Guwahati
- IIT Kanpur
- IIT Kharagpur
- IIT Madras
- IIT Roorkee
