GUWAHATI: In a significant development aimed at bolstering expertise in international affairs and foreign policy, the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has forged a strategic partnership with the esteemed Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed on July 19, 2023, as a culmination of the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar’s visit to IIT Guwahati earlier this month.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to jointly pursue the expansion of awareness and knowledge about international affairs and India's foreign policy. The agreement will remain in effect for 3 years, during which both institutions will work in tandem to achieve the set goals.

Anticipating the outcomes of this alliance, it is expected to lead to the intellectual development of various stakeholders across universities, academic institutions, industries, and other partners situated in Assam.

Furthermore, the collaborative venture will facilitate joint studies conducted through mutually agreed modalities, focusing on addressing issues of shared interest.

By leveraging their collective expertise and resources, IIT Guwahati and ICWA aim to conduct in-depth research on pressing global challenges, with a particular emphasis on matters pertinent to India.
