The interdisciplinary course has been introduced to integrate medical science, engineering, and pharmacology, which will provide a clinical immersion experience, and will also allow students to interact with leading medical professionals.

IIT Guwahati Director Prof. Devendra Jalihal stated that the initiative addresses the need for professionals capable of bridging disciplinary divides. He noted that as future healthcare challenges grow increasingly complex, the programme will train students to innovate across domains.

The curriculum will span pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical studies, alongside engineering modules in design, electronics, and bioinformatics. Students will also explore biomedical devices, pharmacology, sensors, and AI in medicine.

Eligibility requires candidates to have appeared for Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, securing a minimum of 75% aggregate marks. Students who qualify in the IISER Aptitude Test 2025 are also eligible.

Applications will be accepted until May 25. Interested candidates may apply at https://iitg.ac.in/acad or contact the school via shst_off@iitg.ac.in for further details.
