GUWAHATI: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) have joined forces to inaugurate a collaborative research centre on both of their campuses.

This partnership is poised to not only propel technological advancements but also provide crucial support to research scholars and young scientists in their academic pursuits.

The initial areas of focus for the joint research centre encompass three emerging technologies: Additive Manufacturing, Semiconductor Technology, and Green Energy, which include Battery and Hydrogen technologies.

The participation of industry experts, including Chuhao Chen from Delta Inc. and Kevin Cheng from Foxconn Technology Centre, further enriched the collaborative initiative.

A symposium, jointly hosted by IIT Guwahati and NTUST Taiwan, played a central role in strengthening this partnership.

The symposium, titled Semiconductor Technology, Additive Manufacturing, and Packaging (STAMP-2023), was recently held at the IIT Guwahati campus.

The symposium witnessed the active participation of experts from academia and industry, representing India, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic.

It was structured around three pivotal areas: Semiconductor technology discussions, which included topics like Hi-power devices, Silicon Photonics, and Compound Semiconductors; Advanced Manufacturing, with a specific focus on Additive Manufacturing; and Energy-related subjects, such as Li-ion batteries, Green Hydrogen, and Thermal management.

Distinguished speakers shared their insights on these subjects, fostering insightful discussions and knowledge exchange.
