IAF Aircraft goes missing from Jorhat with crew and passengers

GUWAHATI: An AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) was airborne from Jorhat to Mechuka Advance Landing Ground, Arunachal Pradesh on June 3.

The aircraft last contacted ground sources at 1 pm on Monday, 3 June, after taking off from Jorhat airbase at 12:25 pm.

Since the aircraft did not reach the airfield, overdue action was initiated by IAF. 

A total of eight crew and five passengers were onboard the aircraft. 

As per defence press release, a Sukhoi SU 30 MKI and Hercules C130 J Spl Ops aircraft have been sent to locate the missing aircraft.
