Human Trafficking Racket Busted By Guwahati Police, Three Arrested, Three Rescued

 

GUWAHATI: Basistha police busted a human trafficking network, rescuing two women and preventing the abduction of another on Monday, April 7. The operation led to the arrest of three individuals allegedly involved in the trafficking scheme.

Guwahati police took to X on Tuesday, April 8 stating about the operation. 

Among the rescued were a 22-year-old woman from Ghograpar, a 20-year-old from Goroimari, and the sister of one of the victims. Investigations revealed that one of the accused, Naimuddin Ali, had planned to sell the victims—including his own wife, Joshua, and her sister—for ₹2,00,000 each in West Bengal.

Alongside Naimuddin, police arrested Innas Ali, hailing from Alupatishor in Barpeta, and Jahidul Islam, hailing from Bagbar. The accused had also attempted to traffic another woman, Momtaz, with assistance from their accomplices.

Further investigation is underway.
