GUWAHATI: Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has been renamed as the Ministry of Education and the National Education Policy 2020, also called the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has been cleared by the Union Cabinet.
As per reports, the decision was approved by the Union Cabinet during its meeting today.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also approved the draft of New Education Policy, which will replace the three-decade-old policy.
The ministry has been renamed as per the recommendations of the draft NEP 2020.
The draft policy stated that in order to bring the focus back on education and learning, the Ministry of Human Resource Development should be re-designated as the Ministry of Education (MoE).
