In a shocking incident, drunk hooligans entered a wedding venue at Sundarbari, Jalukbari and abused guests from both bride and groom parties.
The hooligans have been identified as students from Assam Engineering College (AEC) hostel 1 who came to the venue with sticks, pieces of wood and other such weapons in their hands. It has been alleged that not only did they vandalize the wedding, they even abused the bride who was sitting near the holy fire and molested women and teenage girls present at the venue. Eye witnesses say that they damaged the wedding pandal, chairs, and four 4-wheelers as well.
According to eyewitnesses, the students entered the marriage hall searching for a truck driver. A scuffle started and the students allegedly started vandalising the venue.
Police is currently investigating the matter.
