GUWAHATI: Himanta Biswa Sarma, the president of the Badminton Association of India (BAI) has been elected as vice-president of the Badminton Asia Council (BAC).
According to BAI General Secretary, Ajay Singhania, Sarma is “making his foray in the continental committee” and this will help the BAI by getting support from the Asian body and work to develop Badminton in the region.

He received 35 votes from a total of 40 votes by the council.
It should be noted that the NEDA convenor was unanimously elected the BAI president during its annual general body meeting in Goa in 2018.
