Himanta Biswa’s convoy allegedly attacked by TMC workers in West Bengal

GUWAHATI:

Himanta Biswa Sarma’s convoy was allegedly attacked by Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters at Khejuri in Kanthi Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal on May 7.

It is to be mentioned that BJP's West Bengal president Dilip Ghosh was also in the convoy.

As per reports, Himanta Biswa Sarma is safe now. However, several BJP workers were injured in the attack.

Confirming Himanta's safety, Assam's BJP Minister Pijush Hazarika told G Plus that a lot of riots were going on at Khejuri in Kanthi.

Himanta Biswa taking his twitter handle, said that “We are at Khejuri in Kanthi LS constituency and attacked mercilessly by AITC goons. Many of our workers are injured even as Mamata goons gheraoing and abusing us. BJP President Dilip Ghosh and I are stuck.”

“TMC goons have blocked the roads on both sides, even as West Bengal Police personnel standing like mute spectator. I am appalled at such brazen abuse of power by Mamata Banerjee whose people have thrown all democratic norms to gutter. Is this the New India that we dream of?”

More details awaited.
