Heroin Worth Around ₹1.1 Crore Seized, One Apprehended In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: In a successful joint operation, one person was apprehended and a significant amount of heroin was seized from the Cachar district in Assam on July 3.

The operation was conducted by the Radhanagar Battalion of Agartala Sector Assam Rifles and Jirighat Police Station in Cachar.

Acting on reliable intelligence regarding the sale of drugs, the Radhanagar Battalion of Assam Rifles, in collaboration with police representatives from Jirighat Police Station, launched a coordinated operation yesterday.

During the operation, the team successfully apprehended an individual in the general area of Lalpani, under the jurisdiction of Jirighat Police Station.

The seized contraband amounted to approximately 276.1 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of over ₹1.1 crore.

Following the arrest, the individual, along with the seized contraband, was handed over to Jirighat Police Station for further investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
