GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, the Special Task Force (STF) in Assam conducted a raid near Ganesh Mandir, Jorabat. During the operation, the STF intercepted a van and made a substantial seizure. The raid resulted in the recovery of 25.5 grams of suspected heroin, along with ₹700 in cash and 100 empty plastic containers.
The driver of the van, identified as 30-year-old Anowar Ali, was apprehended by the STF. Ali is alleged to be involved in drug peddling activities. The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat the illicit drug trade in the region.
The recovered heroin, cash, and containers will be crucial in ongoing investigations. The apprehension of Ali adds to the list of individuals targeted in the fight against drug trafficking.
The seized items will be submitted as evidence in the legal proceedings against Ali, who will face charges related to drug possession and trafficking.
