GUWAHATI: The Assam Power Distribution Company (APDCL) has changed the consumer numbers in the monthly electricity bill.
The initiative is aimed at better accountability and uniformity in this bill payment system. G Plus spoke to Priyom Dutta, APDCL PRO, who stated that the move will benefit consumers towards "uniformity".
The APDCL has sent a phone message to over 10 lakh consumers, who are still following the old billing system. "This is an up-gradation from that and already 50 lakh consumers have the 12 digit consumer number," said Dutta.
The new 12-digit numbers will indicate the sub-division, which will benefit the consumer whilst providing the services.
