According to the weather forecasting agency, there will be light to moderate rainfall from October 4 to October 8, while 9th and 10th will bear heavy rains and thunderstorms, especially over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Tripura.

On the fifth day, heavy rain is expected to occur at isolated places of Arunachal, Assam, and Meghalaya. These observations come after an upper air cyclonic circulation was noticed over north Bangladesh & adjoining SubHimalayan West Bengal, extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

In a related development, due to the increase of heavy downpours in Assam, artisans have been compelled to cover their idols in plastic wraps, as it has impacted the workflow of the idolatry-making process.

For now, craftsmen and citizens alike wait with bated breath for the damp weather to subside, as it may impact the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations in the long run.
