HBS Urges Cured Symptomatic Covid Patients to Donate their Plasma

GUWAHATI: Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urged cured Covid symptomatic patients to donate their plasma. About 400 gms of plasma can be donated by one person that can save up to two patients.

"People who wish to donate plasma can contact 104. However, asymptomatic patients cannot donate plasma," said Sarma.

He informed that in order to collect plasma, regular blood collection is done from which the plasma is extracted and the remaining blood is returned to the donor's body.

Reportedly, a cured patient can donate plasma up to three months of his or her cure.

All plasma donors would be awarded with a certificate of appreciation and the same will be helpful in achieving various government facilities on priority.
