GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Administration has restricted the entry of picnic parties to Chandrapur’s Hatisila picnic spot after hundreds of vehicles including cars and buses were stuck on 23 December.
Over 100 cars and more than 500 people were left stuck at a picnic spot in Hatisila, Noonmati area after the sandbar like picnic spot became overloaded with vehicles and people.

Due to the muddy road and poor light the rescue operation was stopped for the night, however, the operation resumed early morning on 24 December under the guidance of the district administration.
All the vehicles have been successfully pulled out from the picnic spot.
The picnic spot would remain closed until the management committee repairs the muddy road.
