GUWAHATI: S.B. Deorah College on G S Road in the Ulubari of Guwahati is in the grip of a severe water crisis for around a month triggering outrage among students.

Students allege that the only water purifier in the college for the students is not functional due to no supply of running water. This has caused multiple issues for the students and the staff of the college, causing outrage throughout. Students have also alleged that the shortage of water is occurring in the hostels too, forcing many of them to bathe in the common room washrooms.
The college authorities have said that water has not been coming out of the borewell due to technical faults.
Talking to GPlus, the principal of S.B Deorah College said,” There was an ongoing crisis of water due to disruption of the Jal Board water supply, while the boring water supply was also out of order which we have repaired.”
But, many have alleged that the borewell water supply has not been restored and the students are continuing to face a grim situation.
