GUWAHATI: A woman had to be taken to the hospital on a traffic police van after she met with an accident on Wednesday, June 16, as the ambulance failed to arrive on time. The victim met with an accident after falling from her two-wheeler vehicle while crossing a speed breaker near the Patharquarry area of VIP Road, Guwahati.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the woman, identified as Manorama, was overspeeding, which led to the crash. She suffered from cuts and bruises in the arms and legs. The passers-by immediately came to her rescue and informed the emergency services. The 108 ambulance was called at around 3:04 PM, however, locals allege that the ambulance did not arrive at the spot on time.
Meanwhile, the on-duty traffic police personnel came to the rescue. He called the police van on which the woman was taken to the hospital.
