GUWAHATI: A woman in Guwahati lost ₹26,000 to pickpocketing while traveling in a city bus, on May 21.

The victim, Suneshwari Kalita, who was travelling from Adabari to Panbazar, suspects the person sitting next to her as the culprit.
By the time Kalita realised her purse was missing, the thief had already exited the bus. Kalita then recounted the ordeal and lodged a complaint at Panbazar Police Station.
Talking to GPlus, a police officer at the Panbazar Police Station said, “The pickpocket looted her of the money and got off the bus amid the hustle and bustle. Since there was no eyewitness or camera record, we are still trying to identify the culprit.”
Further investigations are underway.
