GUWAHATI: Guwahati woman, Meenakshi Das, has created history by becoming the first woman from northeast India to receive the India record for covering a motorbike expedition to Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world at 19,300 ft.
The India Book of Records has certified her as the 'First North-East Indian Women and Second in the world to reach the highest Motorable Road’ from Guwahati, Assam.

The trip from Guwahati to Umling La, and back to Guwahati was completed by Meenakshi Das and her husband Bedanta Rajkhowa in 21 days, where they covered a distance of 7,500 km. The couple has created a record of being the first couple to reach that point from northeast India.
