GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police in a joint operation conducted by the Sonapur Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) intercepted a truck in Digaru whilst it was attempting to transport 36 live cattle into the state of Meghalaya on Wednesday.
The operation led to the apprehension of three individuals involved, including the truck's driver. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the livestock were being transported without proper authorisation and in violation of existing regulations.
Guwahati Police took to X to put out, “An EGPD team from Sonapur PS intercepted one truck (AS01 GC 9844) at Digaru after it tried to smuggle 36 live cattle into Meghalaya. 3 thugs including the driver were arrested. Legal action initiated.”

The authorities have taken immediate legal action against the suspects, and further details are awaited.
