Guwahati Theatre Festival 2018 kicks off with 'Laughter Therapy'

GUWAHATI: The most awaited festival of the year, Guwahati Theatre Festival (GTF) kick-started in Guwahati on 16th November, Friday with a packed auditorium at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre, Machkhowa.

The city witnessed a never-before-seen performance from the cast and crew of 'Laughter Therapy' directed and designed by Meherzad Patel with stellar performances by Mona Singh as a Therapist along with four men - the Parsi - Mehernosh Siganporia, the Christian-Victor Rodricks, the Hindu-Mahesh Kadam, and the Muslim boy-Mohammed Abdul Qadir Shaikh.

"I am amazed at the performance brought to us by the team of Laughter Therapy. I forgot the last time I laughed so loud and freely. I look forward to attending the coming acts across the weekend," said Chetan Sharma, a visitor of the Guwahati Theatre Festival.

Mona Singh speaking to G Plus said, "We feel ecstatic after the performance. The audience was simply superb and amazing. They were so engaging and they understood all our cues and jokes. Kudos to them!"

Today's play at the Guwahati Theatre Festival is 'Detective 9-2-11' (No Do Gyarah) directed by Atul Kumar, starring a massive 19 member team.
