GUWAHATI: A street food hawker was brought to the Bharalumukh Police Station (PS) on Thursday, August 19, after a video went viral on social media where he was apparently seen urinating in a mug and using the same utensil to serve food.
The Guwahati police took cognizance of the matter after the video was brought to their notice.
The incident created a huge uproar amongst netizens who questioned the safety practices of such food vendors. Senior officials of the Bharalumukh PS told G Plus that the hawker conducted business in the Athgaon area of Guwahati.
The hawker’s identity has not been revealed by the Police and the matter is being investigated.
"So far, he has not revealed his identity and address. We are trying to find out the issue with further follow-ups on the matter," police added.
